V I P S = Volunteers In Police Service

Avery, the coordinator for Oroville's V I P S--Volunteers In Police Service, explained that following an evaluation and training period, people accepted as members of VIPS accompany police officers on duty in the Oroville Police Department.  VIPS members serve a minimum of 16 hours per month after they are approved for service.  You may call (530) 538-2452 to learn more about or volunteer for VIPS.  In the recording  accompanying this interview, the sound volume is low for the first 2 minutes so please be patient and adjust the volume during this period.
